History

Historical Context

India-Poland ties date back to a 1974 science-technology pact and deepened with a defence memorandum signed in February 2003 during Polish PM Leszek Miller’s visit, under which India awarded $600 million of contracts for tank upgrades and air-defence missiles. Trade then surged past $1 billion by 2008, a foundation the Modi-Tusk-led Startup Bridge now expands into space, nuclear and startup collaboration.
