Launch of the EP-35 K.O. AMP
Swedish design firm Teenage Engineering has introduced the EP-35 K.O. AMP, a battery-powered unit that works as a Bluetooth speaker, audio interface, and FM-radio hub. It houses a 30-watt woofer and a 25-watt tweeter, handling guitars, keyboards, vocals, or any line-level source. Power comes from a rechargeable USB-C battery; there is no mains inlet, emphasizing mobile use.
Design and Feature Overview
The EP-35 provides six inputs: a 1/4-inch guitar jack with low/high gain, an XLR mic input with 48 V phantom power, a stereo 3.5 mm line-in, a USB-C audio interface, and Bluetooth LE Audio. All feed a six-input summing mixer for simultaneous playback. Eight preset effect styles—Blues, Indie, Twang, Radio, Robo Choir, etc.—are controlled by a single “amount” knob per channel.
Bluetooth includes Auracast broadcast, allowing multiple EP-35 units to pair in stereo; tilting a unit assigns it to left or right. The amp also serves as a USB-2.0 audio interface for laptops or phones, with a stereo line-out for larger PA systems. A rear compartment houses a “camp light” that can switch to a sound-reactive disco mode, and the chassis is splash-proof.
Expanded K.O. Ecosystem
The launch adds accessories that extend the EP-35’s capabilities:
- EP-127 K.O. PEDAL – wireless foot controller with two pressure-sensitive buttons, built-in looper, metronome, and MIDI/HID output.
- AMPTENNA – antenna that turns the amp into an FM radio receiver.
- Handy Mic – compact XLR mic with push-to-talk and a 1.5 m coiled cable.
- 16 GB USB drive pre-loaded with jam tracks and drum loops.
- Dock kit, textile guitar cable, strap, and three carry bags for mounting Pocket Operator devices and transport.
These accessories expand Teenage Engineering’s “K.O.” (Knock-Out) line, which began with the EP-133 sampler in 2023.
Official Positioning
Teenage Engineering says the EP-35 is meant to serve as both a performance tool and a therapeutic aid for musicians, aligning with the company’s broader move into industrial-design projects such as the EPA1 electric scooter for Vässla.

Potential Market Impact
By combining amp, speaker, and interface in a portable chassis, the EP-35 targets musicians who need mobility and modularity—from street performers to bedroom producers. The splash-proof build, camp-light, and Bluetooth broadcast mode emphasize outdoor jam sessions. The accessory ecosystem and MIDI-compatible pedal position the EP-35 as a hub for future expansions, extending Teenage Engineering’s reach beyond its synth-centric roots.
