History

Historical Context

In 1972 Don Shula led the Miami Dolphins to a 14-0 regular season and a 17-0 finish, the only perfect campaign in NFL modern history, with Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris each surpassing 1,000 rushing yards. That balanced dominance and the “No-Name Defense” set a benchmark that today’s high-completion passing attacks, like Caleb Williams’ 308-yard game, echo.
