History

Historical Context

The 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, held 3-14 October and featuring 4,352 athletes, prompted massive security upgrades—including RFID-tagged parking and extensive security checks—after criticism over bomb threats and hygiene. Those measures created a lasting permit regime that now governs high-profile events such as Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the recent filing against influencer Aamir Shaukeen.
