Recall Announcement

On October 23, 2026, Jaguar Land Rover announced a recall of 93,997 vehicles in the United States because the rear-view camera image may fail to appear. The recall was disclosed through the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which oversees vehicle-safety defect investigations.

Scope of Affected Vehicles

The recall applies to certain model-year 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles sold in the United States. All of these models are equipped with the standard rear-view camera system, and the regulator’s notice specifies that a total of 93,997 units are subject to the corrective action.

Identified Technical Defect

NHTSA’s investigation found that the tailgate trim on the affected models includes an insufficient number of drain holes. Water that enters the trim can become trapped behind the rear-view camera assembly, leading to corrosion or short-circuiting that may prevent the camera’s image from being displayed on the infotainment screen.

Dealer Repair Plan

To remediate the defect, NHTSA requires dealers to drill additional drain holes in the underside of the tailgate trim and to replace the rear-view camera if it is found to be non-functional. Owners will receive notification from Jaguar Land Rover and are instructed to bring their vehicles to authorized service centers, where the inspection, drainage modification and any necessary camera replacement will be performed at no cost to the customer.

Safety and Compliance Implications

By correcting the drainage issue, the recall seeks to restore reliable rear-view visibility, a safety feature that helps drivers detect obstacles behind the vehicle, especially in wet conditions. The corrective action also keeps Jaguar Land Rover in compliance with U.S. safety regulations and reduces the risk of future liability claims related to camera failure.
