History

Historical Context

In 1982 the Milwaukee Brewers won the American League pennant with a 95-win season, losing the World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games. That breakthrough sparked a lasting sports-tourism boom, and the club’s 2024 success, including a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers, has driven bar staffing increases and heightened ticket demand, while Visit Milwaukee projects multi-million revenue per home game.
