Sentencing of Dakari Roy Brown
Dakari Roy Brown, 25, was handed a custodial term of five years and seven months by York Crown Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin, as well as to acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property. The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of drug-dealing related items valued at £1,930.
Operation and Scope of the “Larry Line”
Police investigations revealed that Brown ran the “Larry Line,” a county-lines network moving large quantities of crack cocaine and heroin from Huddersfield to York. The operation was active from 18 December 2025 until Brown’s arrest on 10 September 2026. A search of his Huddersfield residence uncovered two personal mobile phones, a dedicated phone used to coordinate the network, two SIM cards linked to him, cash, and suspected Class A drugs.
Police Response and Statements
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police explained that county-lines groups such as the “Larry Line” exploit vulnerable individuals—including children and people with mental-health or addiction issues—to transport drugs and maximise profit. The force emphasized that it will employ all available powers and capabilities to detect and dismantle similar illegal activity across York, North Yorkshire, and adjoining policing areas, citing the successful outcome of Operation Sentry as evidence of its commitment.
Legal Outcome and Penalties
In addition to the prison term, the court’s forfeiture order targets assets directly tied to the drug-dealing enterprise, amounting to £1,930. The sentencing underscores law-enforcement efforts to curb county-lines trafficking, which relies on phone-based networks to move drugs from urban centres into smaller towns and rural communities.
