History

Historical Context

In 2012, Texas A&M secured its first road victory at Alabama, defeating the Crimson Tide 49-42 in Tuscaloosa under coach Mike Sherman. That win marked the Aggies’ only conference triumph that season, raising their SEC record to 1-1 while Alabama fell to 2-0. Today, Alabama enters the homecoming clash with multiple starters doubtful, echoing the 2012 injury-laden roster that Saban’s staff struggled to replace. If the Tide cannot field healthy players, the Aggies, now coached by Mike Elko, may repeat the upset, reshaping SEC power dynamics.
