History

Historical Context

In 2006 the Calciopoli scandal saw Juventus relegated to Serie B with a 30-point penalty and the 2005-06 title handed to Inter Milan, breaking Juventus’s dominance. The resulting parity sparked more open, high-scoring contests, evident in Napoli’s 3-3 draw during the season with Roma, featuring Anguissa’s overhead kick and McTominay’s long-range strike.
