Indiana Mother Presses for Answers in Daughter’s 2016 Murder
By Drooid · · How we work
The Case Overview
In 2016, 23-year-old Angie Barlow vanished after texting her roommate the address of a private dancing gig in Indianapolis. Eight months later, searchers discovered her remains in a backyard on Harcourt Avenue, and Kramer says her daughter “had been fatally shot.” The case remains unsolved, and the mother, Christina Kramer, has marked a decade without resolution.
Investigation Details
Surveillance footage from the Landmark Apartment complex captured two vehicles leaving shortly after midnight on the night of the disappearance. One was Barlow’s blue Pontiac G6; a black sedan followed, believed to belong to a female acquaintance who worked with Barlow at Club Rio. The tinted windows prevented identification of the drivers. Kramer later used the car’s GPS tracker, locating the vehicle about eight miles from the apartment complex; the interior was found “completely trashed” and appeared to have been driven under a fence.
Kramer recounts a January 2017 phone call from the acquaintance, during which the woman allegedly taunted her with the line, “Oh, you want to know what her last words were.” The woman denied making the call. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has kept the investigation open, assigning Detective Jose Torres as lead, and no criminal charges have been filed.
Official Statements & Responses
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office has not responded to repeated outreach from Kramer, and Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Mears has not returned her inquiries. IMPD confirmed the case remains active but declined further comment.
