History

Historical Context

In 2008 Lewis Hamilton clinched the Drivers’ title at the Brazilian Grand Prix on 2 November, winning by a single point and becoming the youngest champion at 23 years, 300 days. His McLaren-Mercedes success, built on eight season victories, showed that a rookie could shape team strategy—a pattern echoed today as 17-year-old Kimi Antonelli leads the 2026 standings and faces penalties reminiscent of Hamilton’s 2008 battle.
