History

Historical Context

In 1950 the Giants, under quarterback Charlie Conerly, posted a 10-2 record and used four rushers who each scored a touchdown in a 31-21 win, highlighting a rare ground attack. After the Mara brothers assumed control in 1946, that multi-rusher approach persisted, and the October 2026 overtime victory with four rushers scoring shows the franchise’s enduring reliance on spreading the ball.
