History

Historical Context

In 1994, Jimmy Johnson’s Cowboys posted a 12-4 record and reached the NFC Championship, using aggressive tactics that helped shape the league’s risk-reward mindset. On Oct. 25 2026, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell mirrored that approach, opting for a fourth-and-1 with four minutes left against Green Bay. The link shows the 1994 Cowboys’ aggressiveness still influences NFL strategy.
