History

Historical Context

After Yemen’s president Hadi fled in early 2015, Saudi Arabia led a nine-nation coalition that launched Operation Decisive Storm to restore his government and block Houthi advances, with U.S. logistical and intelligence aid. The 2024 Tehran summit, attended by Saudi Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s chief Asim Munir and Turkey’s Ibrahim Kalin, echoes that 2015 joint effort to counter Iranian-linked missile threats.
