History

Historical Context

After missing 2011 with a neck injury, Peyton Manning signed with Denver and led the Broncos to a 13-3 finish in 2012, reviving the comeback narrative that began with his 2008 knee surgeries and 1999 turnaround. The following year he broke Dan Marino’s 1984 mark with 5,477 passing yards, a benchmark that frames Lamar Jackson’s 2024 ankle injury and its impact on Buffalo’s defense.
