History

Historical Context

In the 1975 World Series, Carlton Fisk’s 12th-inning walk-off on October 21 gave Boston a 7-6 win and forced a decisive Game 7, a seven-game showdown that cemented the era’s reputation for late-inning heroics. The same clutch narrative reappeared in 2024 when Milwaukee’s Brice Turang’s squeeze bunt and William Contreras’s two-run single turned a 4-3 deficit into a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 3.
