History

Historical Context

Chip Kelly joined Oregon as offensive coordinator in February 2007, then became head coach in March 2009 and guided the Ducks to three straight Pac-10 championships (2009-2011) and four BCS bowl games. Dan Lanning, hired as head coach in December 2021, now inherits the same high-spending program, where past success has tied coaching moves to large budget commitments.
