History

Historical Context

Robert Gasser’s six-inning shutout on Oct 26 2026 for the Brewers, producing eight two-out runs, echoes Sandy Koufax’s 1965 dominance, when the Dodgers’ left-hander threw a perfect game and later a three-hit World Series shutout on two days’ rest. Koufax faced the minimum 27 batters, striking out 14, illustrating how elite low-hit outings have long shaped postseason strategy.
