01
New video and image tools
Apple’s latest Creator Studio update adds built-in MotionVFX capabilities to Final Cut Pro, following Apple’s acquisition of the MotionVFX company earlier this year. A Content Hub inside Final Cut Pro now offers curated stock video, photos and backgrounds that can be dropped directly into projects. The update also introduces the ability to disconnect clips from the primary timeline and reposition them anywhere in the sequence. In Pixelmator Pro, any image taken from a Final Cut Pro timeline can be opened for edits that are applied back to the original project without re-importing.
02
AI assistants integrated throughout the suite
Artificial-intelligence features appear across all Creator Studio apps. In Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro, users can generate and edit images with text-to-image prompts, such as drawing a circle on an area and describing the desired change. Logic Pro now includes a chatbot powered by OpenAI that can edit existing projects, start new songs and generate vocal tracks from text prompts. The same assistant can be summoned in Keynote, Pages and Numbers for tasks like animating slides or organizing data. Access to the Logic Pro AI assistant requires an Apple-Intelligence-supported Mac running macOS 27 Golden Gate or later; the broader AI tools work on any iPhone, iPad or Mac with the latest software version.
03
Pricing, availability, and system requirements
The Creator Studio subscription is priced at $13 per month or $129 per year, with a one-month free trial for new users. Existing subscribers will receive the update for free in November. Some Final Cut Pro features require Apple silicon, and the suite as a whole needs macOS 26.6 or later. Individual purchases remain possible: Final Cut Pro for $300, Logic Pro for $200, and Pixelmator Pro for $50.
04
Potential impact for creators
By unifying advanced video effects, AI-driven editing, and cross-app workflow enhancements under a single subscription, Apple aims to streamline the creative process for professionals and hobbyists alike. The tighter integration reduces the need for manual re-importing and promises faster iteration, while AI tools may lower the technical barrier for complex visual and audio tasks. Critics have noted that the reliance on the latest macOS versions could limit accessibility for users on older hardware, but Apple positions the suite as a forward-looking platform for creators adopting its newest hardware ecosystem.
