History

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was signed in Vienna on 14 July 2015 by Iran and the P5+1, capping uranium enrichment at 3.67% for ten years and promising sanctions relief. The United States withdrew in 2018, re-imposing sanctions and prompting Iran to resume higher-level enrichment. Qatar’s revised Doha draft now pressures Tehran to end Gulf threats and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
