India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will attend the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Atlanta on Oct 30-31.
He will also join a Quad foreign ministers’ meeting in Atlanta with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Jaishankar will hold bilateral talks with G20 counterparts and help set the agenda for the Miami summit on Dec 14-15.
He will travel to St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda to lead India at CHOGM on Nov 1-4.

History

In 2008 India attended its first G20 summit in Washington, joining a forum that represents roughly 85 % of global GDP. Since then the country has moved from finance-minister representation to hosting the 2023 leaders’ summit in New Delhi and regularly taking part in foreign-minister meetings, underscoring its expanding diplomatic influence.
