History

Jacob Misiorowski's 2024 postseason surge, featuring a sub-2.00 ERA and a high strikeout total, recalls Sandy Koufax's 1963 season when the Dodgers won 99 games and he led the majors with a 1.88 ERA and 306 strikeouts, culminating in a World Series sweep. That year MLB widened the strike zone, reducing batting average to .245 and boosting strikeouts, a trend that shapes pitcher evaluation today.
