01
Halloween Infection Event Launch
On October 29, Battlestate Games announced the start of a new Halloween-themed infection event. The update reintroduces zombies—referred to as “infected”—across all maps and adds a dedicated questline that tasks players with enforcing quarantine zones and eliminating the outbreak. Two event-only locations, an infected version of The Lab and an infected version of The Old Factory, are accessible through a separate matchmaking queue; groups must be small and insurance is disabled, raising the risk-reward balance.
02
New Maps, Enemies, and Questline
The event expands the infected roster. In addition to the fast, slow, and ranged infected from previous years, the update brings back the scythe-wielding Infected Tagilla and introduces Black Division operatives as new hostile NPCs. Each infected type exhibits distinct behavior patterns, making encounters more varied. The questline offers players a choice between supporting general quarantine efforts or venturing into densely populated infected zones to collect vaccine ingredients. Successful completion yields exclusive posters, in-game resources, and achievement badges.
03
Patch 1.3.0.0 Technical Changes
Beyond the event, the 1.3.0.0 patch switches the in-game weather to an autumnal season and tweaks colliders on smaller items in the Currency and Valuables categories to improve pickup reliability. High-difficulty PMC bots have been added to PvE zones, spawning on high-level locations to increase challenge. The planned migration to Unity 6, originally slated for this patch, has been postponed; developers now expect the upgrade to arrive with patch 1.3.5.0 in mid-November.
04
Rewards, Arena Mode, and Upcoming Updates
Escape From Tarkov: Arena introduces “Bloodlust,” a 5-v 5 melee-only mode inspired by classic slasher films. Players wear horror-movie-style masks, earn double experience and a 1.5× Battle Pass progression bonus, and can obtain cash rewards and the “Mask Off” achievement. The main game’s event also provides exclusive hideout customization sets and other themed items. No official end date for the Halloween event has been disclosed, prompting players to prioritize early participation to secure all rewards before the content rotates out.
