Core Agreement and Planned Rollout
Israeli food-tech firm Beyond Oil announced on October 19 that it has signed a deal with Connecticut-based fast-food chain Duchess Restaurants to install its frying-oil treatment system across the chain’s 11 locations. The agreement follows a pilot that began in 2025 in Duchess kitchens, after which the chain decided to adopt the technology as part of its standard frying procedures. Financial terms were not disclosed.
A separate announcement on October 15 revealed that an unnamed U.S. buffet chain with more than 200 sites intends to implement the same technology company-wide, after a pilot at five locations. The first phase of that rollout is slated to cover 18 restaurants, with plans to expand further.
02
Background and Technology
Beyond Oil’s system adds a powder to used frying oil, allowing it to work with existing kitchen filtration equipment. According to the company, the treatment removes degradation compounds, extending oil life and cutting both oil consumption and waste. Duchess Restaurants, founded in 1956 and privately owned in Milford, Connecticut, tested the treatment in its own kitchens before committing to the chain-wide adoption.
