Q3 2026 Financial Results

Coinbase Global announced adjusted net income of $719 million for the third quarter, a 66% increase from the $433 million recorded a year earlier. Earnings per share came in at $2.51, contrasting with Wall Street analysts’ expectation of a $0.06 profit per share. Revenue reached $1.20 billion, falling short of the $1.233 billion forecast by analysts surveyed by LSEG. The profit surge was driven largely by gains in Coinbase’s cryptocurrency investment portfolio, which rose as the broader digital-asset market recovered.

02

Product and Service Expansion

During the quarter, Coinbase deepened its push beyond pure-crypto trading. In July, Max Branzburg, vice president of product, said the firm would launch an “everything exchange” that will list tokenized stocks, real-world assets, derivatives, prediction-market contracts and early-stage token sales. Early October saw the rollout of Coinbase for Agents, a tool that lets users employ AI agents such as ChatGPT or Muse to manage portfolios, conduct research, and execute trades. The company also broadened its prediction-market offerings, adding a wider array of event contracts.

03

Market Context

The earnings uplift coincided with a 39% rise in Bitcoin’s price over the recent three-month period, with the flagship cryptocurrency trading around $80,809. This price rally helped lift the value of Coinbase’s crypto holdings, even though the composition of the portfolio remained largely unchanged. Prediction-market revenue grew to more than $200 million on an annualized basis, and the number of traders in that segment rose 60% compared with the prior quarter.

04

Outlook

Coinbase’s results highlight a rebound in cryptocurrency valuations and a strategic shift toward diversified digital-asset services. The firm’s upcoming “everything exchange” and AI-driven tools suggest a focus on expanding its product suite while capitalizing on renewed market enthusiasm.
