01
Design and Feature Overview
Toyota unveiled five lifted “Woodland” concept vehicles—based on the RAV4, Grand Highlander, Sienna, Crown Signia, and the battery-electric bZ SUV. The concepts were created by Toyota’s North American design studio, CALTY Design Research, to explore how its most popular nameplates can be adapted for off-road use while retaining on-road comfort. All models share a Horizon Blue exterior paint inspired by 1960s Toyota models such as the Stout, Crown, and Corona, a contrasting black roof and hood, a lift kit, large over-fenders, satin-black wheels, All-Terrain tires, roof racks, cross-bars, and an exclusive “Woodland” badge on the tailgate. The roof racks bear the Yakima logo, and the wheels are fitted with Yokohama Geolander X-AT tires, some of which display tiny “Woodland” badges.

Powertrain and Capability Highlights
Toyota did not release detailed powertrain specifications for most concepts, but it noted that the RAV4 Woodland Plug-In Hybrid and Sienna Woodland concepts illustrate how electrified and family-focused models can adopt a more adventurous role. The bZ Woodland concept signals the brand’s electric-future direction. According to Toyota, the 2027 bZ Woodland will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 375 horsepower—37 hp more than the standard bZ AWD—and will provide 8.3 inches of ground clearance plus a towing capacity of up to 3,500 lb. These upgrades are complemented by the same All-Terrain tires, black side molding, roof rails, and black wheel-arch cladding used across the lineup.

Toyota’s Market Intent
off-road market. The company framed the project as a way to gauge consumer reaction to modest cosmetic and capability upgrades that could later be offered through official dealers if feedback proves favorable.

Upcoming Public Reveal
The five Woodland concepts will be displayed at the 2026 SEMA Show, beginning on November 3. Toyota indicated that the exhibition will serve as a testbed for potential future production versions.
