Core Event: Beijing Incident and Hamburg Comeback
On September 12, 2026, Australian Hyrox champion Joanna Wietrzyk continued the Beijing race after a bout of diarrhoea caused fecal matter to run down her legs. She crossed the finish line first but later forfeited the win and points, issuing a public apology. Six weeks later, on October 30, 2026, Wietrzyk entered the Elite 15 women’s race in Hamburg and won with a time of 56:10.21, reclaiming her position at the top of the sport.
