Disney’s New Marketing Technology Leadership

The Walt Disney Company announced that former Xbox executive Jennifer Creegan will assume the newly created position of head of marketing technology and operations on September 7. Reporting to chief marketing and brand officer Asad Ayaz, Creegan joins Disney’s enterprise marketing organization as part of a broader revamp aimed at unifying the company’s global marketing efforts.

Role and Scope

In her role, Creegan will work across Disney’s major business units—including film and television, streaming, sports, parks and experiences, games, and consumer products—while collaborating with the firm’s technology and data teams. The position is intended to provide deeper insight into Disney fans, enable faster, data-driven decision-making, and identify new growth and engagement opportunities worldwide.

Leadership Background

Before joining Disney, Creegan led strategy, business planning and insights at Microsoft-owned Xbox, shaping product, content and monetization strategy. Prior to that, she spent more than two decades in Microsoft’s advertising division, gaining extensive experience at the intersection of technology, data and marketing.

Official Statement

> “There are more ways than ever to experience Disney today, and that gives us an incredible opportunity to bring fans closer to the brands and stories they love,” — Asad Ayaz, chief marketing and brand officer, The Walt Disney Company “There are more ways than ever to experience Disney today, and that gives us an incredible opportunity to bring fans closer to the brands and stories they love,” — Asad Ayaz, chief marketing and brand officer, The Walt Disney Company

Implications for Disney’s Marketing Strategy

The appointment reflects Disney’s ongoing shift toward a more data-centric, technology-enabled marketing model. By centralizing technology and operations under a dedicated leader, Disney aims to create a more cohesive fan experience across its diverse portfolio and to accelerate growth in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.
