Aurum Resources uncovers high-grade gold just outside Côte d’Ivoire’s Boundiali mine

New high-grade gold finds near Boundiali
On September 18, 2026, Aurum Resources reported assay results from 60 diamond-drill holes (12,251 m) at the BMT1 deposit and BMT2 prospect, both situated just outside the northern edge of its 3.22-million-ounce Boundiali resource in Côte d’Ivoire. The standout intercept came from BMT2: a 2.38-m section grading 22.01 g/t gold from 277 m depth, containing a 1-m core at an exceptional 51.38 g/t. Additional hits included 1.5 m at 41.78 g/t (27 m) and a 14.2-m zone at 2.36 g/t (205.8 m).
Exploration scale and results
A further 65 m of drilling across 41 holes at BMT1—home to 320,000 oz of the existing Boundiali resource—produced a 1.35-m intercept of 43.32 g/t gold (17 m) and a 1-m stretch at 47.56 g/t (182 m). Wider mineralised zones returned 19 m at 1.90 g/t (243 m) and 13.45 m at 1.31 g/t (171.8 m). These results are part of a 100,000-m diamond-core campaign aimed at expanding Boundiali, complemented by a 30,000-m program at the adjacent 1.16-million-ounce Napié project.
Resource growth and future plans
Following the 2025 acquisition of Mako Gold’s Napié assets, Aurum’s total gold endowment rose to roughly 4.4 million oz. A prefeasibility study (June) projected an 11-year mine life delivering about 1.5 million oz and a maiden reserve of 1.21 million oz for the six-million-tonne-per-annum mine approved in May. The company holds US$54.6 million in cash (end-June) and operates 16 drill rigs. A resource update is slated for early in the fourth quarter, feeding into a definitive feasibility study expected in late 2026, with the goal of becoming a major West African producer by the first half of 2028.
Official statements & responses
Managing director Dr Caigen Wang said the new drill results will be incorporated into the upcoming Boundiali mineral-resource update and will support the definitive feasibility study later this year.
