History

Historical Context

On 26 November 2008 ten Lashkar-e-Taiba gunmen attacked Mumbai, killing 175 people and sparking the UAPA anti-terror law and the creation of the National Investigation Agency. The assault followed a decade of bombings, notably the 1993 Mumbai blasts that killed 257, and highlighted Pakistan-based ISI support, prompting tighter Indo-Pak border surveillance and leading to the formation of the elite Force One unit.
