Sports Equinox 2026: Five Major Leagues Collide on a Single Monday
By Drooid · · How we work
Core Event – Simultaneous Games Across Five Leagues
On a Monday that marks the 33rd sports equinox, all five of North America’s major professional leagues—MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL and the WNBA—have games scheduled at the same time. The slate includes World Series Game 3 (Milwaukee Brewers at Tampa Bay Rays), Monday Night Football (Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles), WNBA Finals Game 5 (Atlanta Dream at Golden State Valkyries), nine NBA contests and three NHL matchups. The convergence creates a rare “sports smorgasbord” for fans seeking to follow multiple championships in a single evening.
Background & Context – History of the Sports Equinox
Sportradar notes that this is the 33rd recorded sports equinox and the first since Oct. 27 2025, when all four traditional leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL) played simultaneously. It is also only the fourth equinox that includes the WNBA, a milestone first reached in 2000. The term describes the alignment of league calendars that allows every major sport to be on-air on the same night.
