History

Trump’s 2018 decision to raise steel tariffs to 25% sparked Ohio factory shutdowns, a 12% output drop at GM’s Defiance plant and the Ohio Chamber’s claim of $4 billion lost revenue. That trade-war legacy resurfaces at Donald Trump’s October 28, 2026 Chillicothe rally, where he defends Canada tariffs while rival Vivek Ramaswamy spends $4 million on a TV ad.
