History

Secret Oslo talks in 1991 led to the Oslo I Accord, signed on 13 September 1993 by Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat and President Bill Clinton, establishing a five-year interim period and the Palestinian Authority. The process collapsed after the 2000 Camp David failure and the Second Intifada. Today, PA President Mahmoud Abbas and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides urge Israel to restart negotiations.
