- In 2017 Neoen commissioned Tesla’s 100 MW/129 MWh Hornsdale Power Reserve in South Australia, the world’s largest lithium-ion grid battery at the time and later expanded to 150 MW/194 MWh. Its success inspired later projects such as the 300 MW Victorian Big Battery (2021) and now drives CATL’s TENER+ sodium-ion units and Delectrik’s flow-battery contracts aimed at multi-GWh deployments in Australia and India by 2026.
